Default TPMS question

I need to order 5 new replacement Beru units, I will get them from Tirerack along with stems to play it safe.

Can my local tire shop install, or do you need to have a special audi tool to vag these or calibrate.

I keep getting yellow malfunction and the sensors are 5+ years old.

Is it plug and play, or do they need a special vag tool to calibrate once re-installed?

Default Local shop should be able to install........ once the wheels are

on your car, select store tire pressures in MMI (maybe 05 is initialize wheels I think, mine is an 06) and within 20 miles of driving your pressures etc. should display. I just bought a winter wheel package with TPMS sensors installed. Once on the car, store tire pressures is set, the sensors are recognized within 20 miles or so.

Default Physical fit is simple too

Held in my a simple torx screw internally and the plastic nut you can see externally. Most all shops now have a basic understanding of them since they are required on most new all cars now.
