Default Vag-com version for 2007 S8 D3
Sofware version vag 12.12.0 / 11.11.6 / 12.12.
Will this version suffice to use in A8/S8 D3 platform?

Default Why does it matter? W/ legit cables latest software is free PC download.
CAN is what matters, not the version on some laptop/PC that can always be downloaded with a legitimate Ross-Tech cable.

(HEX+) CAN =bus support you need for D3/newer Audi's; HEX (only) is the older one.

Complete noob to this board (just purchased a 2004 A8 - love it thus far). I've made my living in automation and software for years; IP is an important asset and should be respected. Kudos.

Additionally, If we don't take care of IP cars of the future will be impossible to work on for all of the security/safety lockouts.
