Default Why do you think the CD changer is faulty?

If it plays a few seconds, then cuts out, then plays again, it could be the component protection software on the unit that needs to be 're calibrated' which can only be done, I think, by a main dealer. Is that it or something else? Could be that the optical loop that controls it needs diagnosing/repair.
Or you could have been sold a pup....

His VCDS scan shows:

Hope I didn't send you down a rathole buying a new battery but that 6v freeze frame seems odd !
Like you said it can't hurt if you don't know for sure how old it is.
One guy in another forum claims his AC works better after replacement.

On the upside we have seen a lot of weirdness go away once a new battery is fitted.

If you paid with PayPal there is a way. Dispute it there.

Anyone know why I get a few 0010 errors and what module that is linked too please?

I think there is a genuine electrical fault and/or faulty module.
That said, there are far more knowledgeable folks here than me.

Also since you have a genuine VCDS might be worth a go to contact Ross-Tech directly for some support

I emailed Ross-tech with my scan but they have not replied yet. Also, I have got another CD Changer and this one is also flashing like a carnival. I can't put a cd in and it dosplays device fault.

When I scanned it with VCDS, it just said CP where as the other changer I bought said mechanical fault as well as CP. Surely I can't have been so unlucky to get 2 duff changers?

The changer number is 4E0 035 110 and I am hoping I have not messed up and got the wrong changer?

I tried a google search for compatability but no joy...
