There is a 10 VIN version for $399, so only $50 more.
It can be upgraded to unlimited VIN later on.
It work either via WiFi or cable.
There are many additional features like a gauge HUD on connecting phone/tablet.
The main thing is we are no longer tied to a specific machine - it works in most browsers.
This is very handy for those of us who use a Mac, for example.
Additionally, connecting to the vehicle WiFI hotspot means it's always up to date.
There is nothing on the wiki at this point, I suspect due to Ross-Tech protecting their intellectual capital from the Asian and European knockoff market.
Same intuitive features, a lot more handled via pop-up dialogs.
Same mods available, several threads on D4 forum.
There are about double or more the number of modules that are in a D3 so I haven't gone crazy poking around yet.
Basically did needle sweep and VIM on mine since I never used remote window and the seatbelt chime is barely noticeable.

Mine came in yesterday and worked fine when I went to use both infrastructure and ad-hoc modes. I unfortunately was not able to get it to the point where I could release the EPB to swap rotors and pads in the rear. I tried everything I could but there is no write-up I could find on the Ross_Tech site that spelled it out. I did see the write-up for the non-mobile vcds usage. I was a bit frustrated to say the least.
Has anyone been able to figure out the EPB release for the mobile version? Does anyone have any good experiences with this mobile unit so far? I have been able to clear some codes that appeared when I changed the fuel filter but I have not been able to clear the "Service Due" or the "Brakes" error. I changed my oil and front brakes today as well and have not been able to clear these codes. The is my first use with a device of this nature so its all new to me.
I will be calling Ross-Tech in the morning to see what I can find out.
I am looking forward to hearing more as all of you experienced gentleman wortk with this.

Not all functions are currently available in VCDS-Mobile as the HEX-NET is still in Beta.
You will need VCDS version 14 to connect in 'classic' mode: http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/beta/14-2.html
In the interim you may want to post questions on the Ross-Tech Forums
