Default Ventilated seats retrofit

Hey guys, got a line on a nice set of heated cooled black leather seats. I currently have just heated and was thinking of swapping them in. I already have a spare climate unit with the cooled function, will it be a a plug and play install or do I need to change wiring etc. Has anyone made the swap before? Thanks.

Not heard of any retrofits, but as long as you have with the seat the control module and correct hvac head unit, it’s most likely a plug and play, then coding exercise.

Although the ventilated sears aren’t especially effective, so don’t expect any massive changes in comfort. Also the perforated seat leather that’s required as part of the package is much less durable and harder to repair when worn.

I figured as much, the seats are practically falling I'm my lap hence the desire to install them. Are you familiar with the location of the seat control module?

It should be attached to the underside of each seat.

unless you can do this for cheap with an easy install, it's not worth the effort. Very little effect unless wearing shorts, etc. Plus, like someone else said, the leather is much thinner and cheaper looking. I'd stay with the solid leather seats.

The ventilated seats are using ambient cabin air, so they will not cool like cars that have an AC hose to the seat fan. However, they will keep your shirt and trousers dry in the summer by evaporating perspiration with the air flow. I think the ventilated seats are great to have...and with your black interior they are even more needed.
