I live in California and it's illegal not to have a front license plate. My car came with the front grill bumper piece without the license plate holder and I'm looking to trade it for a grill bumper piece with a license plate holder.

If you live in a state that doesn't require front plates and happen to have the piece with license the plate holder, let me know if you would be interested in trading. (Same goes if you live in California and are ok with risking a $25-$50 ticket)

I do have park distance control (as do 99% of A8's) so the grill bumper piece would need to be from a 2006+ A8/A8L/S8/W12 with the two openings for the parking sensor. They changed the color from charcoal to shiny black for 2008+. I would also be willing to trade for a 2008+ piece. The grill bumper piece I have is in excellent condition and includes the two horizontal chrome strips. Check out the photos of my car in my profile albums.

There is one thing I'm not sure about yet and that's if having Adaptive Cruise affects the grill piece in any way. I'll check it out when I get home and update this post.

I just ordered the OE for my 2004 to the tune of $127! It had to be painted.

Yeah I had to order one also for the tune of $110.88 plus shipping from genuinevwaudiparts.com came in charcoal....lol, have yet to install it though cause i really don't want to :-(

Yup, the 04-05 version of that piece were body colored. 2006+ the piece is the same color no matter the body paint color (with the only caveat being it's metallic carbon finish 2006-2007 and gloss black 2008+)
