I almost fried some fuses though, while trying to place that new motor with metal body instead of the old plastic one

And the motor itself is much bigger in size too.

) I accidentally touched battery terminals with it. But, hopefully I got away with only few sparks and a slight fright

Yea it’s not a good system design. I’ve had to replace with upgraded parts literary every motorized component of the trunk lid system over the years due to failure.
Trunk latch was first, then the trunk lift motor, and most recently the Trunk soft close pull down actuator and mechanism (Bowden cable detached from actuator). The replacement came off an ‘08, and an interesting detail is that the return spring on the latch strike (which is notorious for snapping) is quite a bit bigger and stronger than the early ones, presumably to mitigate that problem.
Anyway, since replacing with the updated (used) parts, they’ve continued to operate without issue years later.

Upgraded motor....
Interesting... the ones in the plastic case says 180 NM
The ones with the metal case have different values:
All part numbers are the same 4E0827852H
(A) Number below Part # - (B) NM - (C) Year made
00145245 - 210 - 2007
00150130 - 201 - 2008
00153903 - 205 - 2008
00180720 - 190 - 2012
00183684 - 212 - 2013
Is the more powerful one the better choice?

Yes it's better smelling crap.
I gave up on mine many years ago.
I think it is luck if you win the lottery and luck if you have a D3 with the electronic trunk working.

Based on the spec's and manufacture dates, I don't think the dealers know either.
The might think you are "coocoo" if you ask for an H version with a NewMeter spec.
