what does an " ! " mark in a yellow tire looking symbol, mean.. it's next to the tachometer.

I believe that's your car is telling you a tire has low pressure....
Hit CAR --> Systems --> scroll to 2nd page to --> Display Tire Pressure and take a look.

thanks.. i'm not familar w/ the D3.. saw an '05 and that indicator was on, but the guy was clueless
he was clueless as too it's meaning!!! odd, don't u think??

I think you got the traction control light
It's a ! inside a triangle inside a circle in the face of the tach. If that's on and stays on it means the traction control system isn't working properly. If it's flashing, it means the traction control is active.
The flat tire indicator comes up on the center screen, not the tach face.

It is most definitely a tire pressure monitoring warning light, either a tire is low, or the system itself is broken...
