I have same problem with '03 A6 2.7T, have been through 3 sets of wheels, different tire brands (Dunlop, Conti, Michelin), RFBs, alignments, new tie rods (car has only 55K!!), 4 different shops checked everything including 2 Audi dealers - the problem is still there.
I have found literally hundreds of posts on different forums complaining about the same issue for A4, A6/S6/Allroad, even the newest A5/S5 with pretty much no solution. People change suspension parts, tires, wheels with no good outcome most of the time.
It's more than obvious a design issue with Audi cars, may be related to quattro (I have not seen such issues reported on FWD audis), and it's just not fixable if you are "lucky" to get such car.

Are you positive that a tire is not out of round? My experience in two cases was with new, factory and dealer installed tires, one of which was with the winter Bridegstone 19's on my 08 A8, the other was a Dunlop sport in my then new 03 CL55. In both cases it was not the dealer's road force tests that diagnosed the problem, but the shop that straightens wheels that I have used. In both cases the dealer replaced the tire with no problem.

The issue stays same after multiple set of tires installed on different wheels, also different auto/tire shops. It's not wheel/tire issue. It was less pronounced on summer Conti SportContact2, it was there but more sporadically than constantly.
Now with winter Micheline Pilot Alpin it's back again, though even with those sometimes it's there around 50-55 m/h, sometimes (but rare) it's not. I road balance all tires in wheel/tire shops.
