Default What new tires to get for the A8?

My tires have worn out and it's extremely hard and noisy now. Need to replace them really soon. Stock tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE040.

Looking for something that is comfy and quiet.

How's the Dunlop SP Sport 9000?
According to tirerack.com, this Dunlop is OEM tire for A8 too, besides Bridgestone Potenza RE040 and Pirelli PZero Rosso. Looking at Dunlop because it has better reviews/ratings compared to the other 2.

or any other recommendations that is worth the bucks..

Pls advise.. Thanks.

Yokohama Advan4 is a very good all-season performance tire, Bentley's ride on them--just got them and they are very good

I have a 2007 S8...They are delivered with Pirelli 265/35-R20 PZero's in the North American Market. I bought a set of Michelin 275/35-R20 A/S Pilot Sports (and a fifth wheel/tire set for the spare). They come in all sizes. They are highly rated in Tire Racks reviews and my experience so far (only 500 miles) is great handling, low road noise, and they look agressive. That said, I haven't yet been caught out in a snowstorm...but...the reviews are good from those that have been.

My A8L came with the Dunlop SP Sport 9000's and I'm happy with them. They seem to wear well and after approximately 13K miles are still not noisy which seems to be a problem with some summer tires. I'd buy another set when they wear out. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Default Avon Tech M550 A/S

I've had these on my A6 for a year now and they're good in the dry and in the snow.

Default These are excellent mild climate tires

If you have to deal with snow regularly, I would not recommend them. Otherwise, they are very smooth riding, stay balanced, are lightweight, very quiet and last a long time. I'm a Michelin all the way kinda guy and I consider the Conti Sport Contact 2 to be the best all around high performance tire out there. Only other recommendation for a performance tire would be the Michelin PS2.
You didn't say what kind of driving you do or if you had the sport option. That would probably influence our recommendations.

Default If they are available in the right load rating

I'd sure recommend the Michelin PS2's.

Love them on my RS6.

I wouldn't go with the Dunlops. I just switched out my Dunlops for the Michelin's and the difference is night and day. I'll never use Dunlops again, not that it was bad tire, it wasn't, but it's just that the Michelins are so much more superior.

I also have used the Conti's and would recommend them, but the Michelin Pilot Sports are by far the best tire for the A8, in my opinion.

Just last week I had the same question. I was replacing Potenza's as well. On my last A8 ('99) I went through two sets of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, and I now have Pilot Sports on my '05 S4. Without a doubt these are great tires. They stick to the road very well, are reasonably quiet, and lasted ~25k miles. This go around I went with the Avon Tech M550 A/S. They have a very good review on Tirerack.com and they were ~$500 less than the Michelins. Besides that it's my New Years resolution not to be a creature of habit ;-)
