Wheels-Tire 275/35/20 A8 fitment?
Will a 20X10" with 40 offset rims using 275/35/20 work on 04 A8L? I'm looking at putting these as all-around if possible. Will there be an issue in the front with this setup? I'm getting mix responses so far.

take a look at my wheel size and setup/offset and tire dimensions and plug them into the tire offset calculator here: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp and compare to your proposed setup. It will help to know that my setup is just about the max you can push out the wheels/tires without rubbing. The fronts can actually be pushed out another 2-3 mm max.
the calculator at the link will give you the pertinent details of what you need and you can compare with oem specs and my setup which works. it will also compensate for the difference in rim width between my setup and your proposed setup. take a look and good luck. Indeed CovertW12 is the wheel guru and hopefully he will chime in.

Two tire places on the internet said front will be a problem at first. The local tire supplier has a high level of confidence that the setup would fit and they are willing to test fit them next week. According to the calculator, it should fit too.
If all goes well, I'll try to the post the setup (TSW wheels with the Pirelli PZero Nero) when finished.
Thanks all.

The rears will be close to perfect. The front I think will be within 2mm
It will all depend of the actual width of the 285 you go with.... the Conti's I'm running seem to be middle of the pack for that. But the Toyo's I ran in 295 were actaully narrower....
My guess is you might need a 2 -3mm spacer in the front to get off the control arm. ECS or PureMS has sets.... you'll also want a set of slightly longer lugs to be safe.
keep us posted !

The 20X10 et. 40 with 275/35/20 set-up works perfectly all around. The ride in dynamic mode is surprisingly still very smooth. I'm very happy with how everything turned out. I had my calipers painted black in the process and planned on lowering the car next. Here are some pictures.

So how is this setup? Honestly....? Still undecided. Have a set of Niche Verona M150. 20x10 with 40 offset. Not sure if we should go 275/35 or 255 series. Rubber is Nexen N7000. Do I need spacers? How do I post pics? Should be complete Saturday. Its an 06 A8. Colour is white.

I think the wheels will make the difference on weather your going to need spacers for the front. I'm really interested myself. I was interested in a set of 20x10 et 40mm myself but the LM replicas I think will need a significant spacer for the front.
