Who has the most mileage on their D3 A8?

You are talking miles, not kilometers, correct?
Have you taken off the timing belt covers and checked the belt's condition? Also, have you replaced the serpintine drive belt yet? If so, at what mileage?
I was planning to have my timing belt done at 150,000 miles (double the recommended interval) or maybe sooner but it still looks good.

I have 130,000 on 2004 a8, have the same problems you have -trunk hindge, lower body panel bulge, coils, engine mount solenoid faults. No problems with air suspension. Still a great car and it was only 20K two years ago.

Just turned 70k miles on my 2005 A8L and I've had a few problems:
both front wheel bearings replaced -- 60k miles
two parking sensors replaced -- 68k miles
5/8 ignition coils replaced -- I washed the engine (oops)
Some goofy software issues, but I am rectifying that currently.
I would gladly trade mine in for another A8L -- probably an 07 or 08 when it's time and I have money.

I had 210,000 miles on my 2000 A8. Nothing more than the recommended maintenance - but I never missed a scheduled maintenance date. I think I could have got to 300,000 miles if I wanted. I will say that the interior was looking faded at 200,000, but I think that was reasonable.
I donated the A8 recently to a military support organization as it was time to move to a S8 which I plan to ride to 200,000 as well.

I'm curious about how reliable the S8 and the w12 engines are. Something alluring about both, but their uniqueness scares me... . Anyone have experience with them?

I'd post in a new topic, just not to throw this one off topic
, but they seem to be reliable just extremely costly to repair if anything does go wrong. Also i heard you don't need to have a the tranny belt changed as it is a chain on the w12

Thanks. Pretty much everything is expensive to repair nowadays...but the question is what's the likelihood that an expensive repair will happen. I've heard the same about the lack of a timing belt on the W12, but that's usually a pretty easy DIY job. For me, it's the failed trannies or inherent engine defects like bad tensioners that scare me.
