Have a 2007 A8L. Soon after purchasing (Oct 2013), I had an immediate issue that the windows (via window tinting?) were being scratched from inside the doors. All 4 windows had identical scratching, in the exact same spot, each time you lowered the window. The scratching grew progressively worse until I took it back to the dealer. Dealer dis-assembled each door to identify and correct the problem, and replaced all window tinting. This was under warranty.
This problem has now resurfaced on the driver window and I think the glass itself is now damaged. Scratching getting worse and window operation now sporadic/dysfunctional.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Dealer stating possible window actuator problem. Previous diagnosis was a "misaligned screw" inside each door??
Thanks!

I had an issue with window tint being scratched badly in my previous Mercedes E430. All 4 windows that grew progressively worse. There is a product called moleskin that many people would recommend for your windows that is supposed to prevent this problem. The tint shop that did my work (out of business soon after my warranty period expired, go figure) did not recommend it so I went with what they said. I'm not sure if the moleskin would have prevented it but my gut tells me otherwise.
