Hello all,
Our brother's 04 A8L windshield wipers suddenly stopped working and we have to push them down to clear the windshield. What can be the problem? Fuses? Sensor?

Could be any of the above. You'll have to verify. VAG-COM software can tell you if the motor assembly is bad. I've had my linkage seize up in the driver's side shaft/axle tube. I had to remove the linkage and take it apart (beat out the seized shaft) to file away the corrosion. Then I greased it and reassembled it.

Thanks Mister Bally, It was an easy fix or just being lucky.

I fiddled a little bit with the onboard computer and found under "car setting" or something to this effect a "reset windshield wipers maintenance warning" or something to this effect, can't remember the exact wordings, anyway, this did the trick, now they work again. Apparently, when it's time to change the blades, they stop working until you manually reset the warning message...
