And the trusty 19" turbines are back on. I also did a hand wash & wax.
Miser(sic) Bally does not go cheap with the car care stuff!
The suspension is set to normal. Next time I take some pictures, I'll try to remember to lower it.

<Makes mental note to set car on Dynamic for all photo shoots>
I've honestly never been a fan of that color - but after a nice wash-n-wax and in the right light it is actually quite beautiful.
You've made a Beige convert out of me Bally!

I just realized that I did not clean the exhaust tips. Hard to see at the angle I shot at.
The first D3 I ever saw was at the January 2003 NAIAS in Detroit. The one they had was pearl beige. I fell in love with the car & color and said I would have one someday. Took me less than three years.
It replaced my pearl white '87 5000CSQ which was my favorite color. The beige is right up there and is the closest thing to pearl white IMHO. I've found that a clean, waxed light color pearl effect car looks best (stands out) during overcast skies / Seattle type weather. And they also look pretty good when the sun is shining as well.
A photo is linked showing the car on a cloudy day. The car is dirtier in this photo than the ones I snapped yesterday. It also looks like trees are growing from the car!

Cloudy day photo

I use Griot's Carnauba paste. It now comes in "deodorant stick" packaging. It lasts the longest and buffs easy. Griots "Best of Show" liquid wax supposedly offers a deepr shine but I don't see it on my pearl beige paint nor on my yellow Beetle. The problem with it is that it seems to be five times harder to buff out than the paste. I have both but really only use the paste. I have Griot's Random Orbital machine and use it to clay, polish, and sometimes to apply wax. I have the buffing pads for the polish and wax but find it best to buff by hand. When I use the orbital with the proper buffing pads, I still find myself going over the car with a buffing cloth.
Between waxings, sometimes after washing, I'll use their spray on wax. Mainly because it smells nice(!) and it seems to help keep the dust off of the car.
I'm sold on the Griot's stuff. Pricey but seems to be superior than lots of the other stuff. For the "Miser" that I have been coined as here, I figure I don't drink or smoke and I save money by doing most of my own car maintenance & repairs so I can waste some money on cleaning supplies & equipment.
The 19" tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 255 40 ZR19 96Y M+S
I see you're a member of the beige club! I've only seen three others in my life. The first one at the 2003 Auto Show, One on the road near the Detroit airport and one on the James W. Shocknessey Ohio Turnpike near Cleveland. So If you've never had yours near Detroit (driven by a middle eastern female) or on the Ohio Turnpike (That one was driven by a white haired gentleman about 62 years young), You may have the fifth one in existance! The one pictured in the brochures could be the one I saw at the Auto Show or mine since I have a very low VIN!
