I guess title says it all. A dealer in Houston is selling 2010 A8 L Quattro with 168k Miles for around $13k but vehicle has very high mileage .. So I keep asking myself for how long is it going to last? Never owned an Audi but every time I see an A8 L I want to own one .. If it is going to last another 100k miles with regular maintenance I dont have a problem but dont want to buy something that costs another $10k in a year or two and I am asking myself should I spend that much money or send the car to junk yard .. Any thoughts/suggestions from Audi experts here and 2010 A8 owners? Thanks!

You might try cross posting in the D3 platform forum as 2010s will be that model rather than the later D4 (which is this forum).
For D4 models, reliability is generally quite good, but I don't think many of us have hit even half of that mileage.

As long as maintenance is completed as scheduled, there is no cause for concern. The only repairs that seem common are the suspension (which seems to have less to do with mileage than age) and front suspension components, neither of which is a 10,000 repair. That said, an overzealous dealer can drastically inflate repair costs, so a good independent shop is important. I say if you like everything about the car, specifically optional equipment, go ahead and pull the trigger. With the money you are saving on the higher mileage, you should put some extra money in the bank aside to help if you do run into a repair, necessary for any German car.

I know many people with a quarter million miles on their car(s).
While I think today's cars are good for that many miles with normal maintenance and the occasional repair, you may encounter some expensive repairs with an A8.
I'm guessing the transmission could be a pricey repair as well as the HVAC system.
With that said, it would be a very affordable way to enjoy a flagship car.

Speaking for a '98 A6, it went ~265k miles with scheduled maintenance and somewhat regular replacement of the front control arms. Maintenance costs were a bit higher, though, due to the 70k mile replacement interval on the timing belt.
Aside from the front control arms, the camshaft seals went after about ~185k or so. That's a completely different engine, though.
I'm a firm believer in changing the "lifetime" transmission fluid every 70-100k, too. I'll never know what would have happened if I didn't![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
What I also found is, unlike other high-mileage cars I've had, the A6 didn't turn into a rattle-box as it got older. Everything was always solid.

Our 2006 Audi A8L did 170k miles before it was totaled in 2012 and it ran beautifully and just need oil change, a few full servicing, new front control arms, and brake pads/rotors as needed. The current 2012 A8L we have has 98k miles and is 3.5 years old and is running great like a charm.
