2011 A8 Sport Package vs BMW 750i Sport

Hi all,
I am a long time BMW owner (current car is a 2006 750LI Sport). I am finally trading my old car for a new one but have been very on the fence about the new 750 cars (numerous issues and drawbacks to the new 7 series in my opinion).
I had not thought about Audi until recently but have been very impressed in researching the new A8's. Unfortunately, although I have driven a long wheelbase A8, I have been unable to find any A8's with the sports package to test out.
I was wondering whether anyone can comment on the difference that the sport package makes in the drive of an A8 and additionally whether anyone who has driven both cars can compare the A8 sport to the current 750 sport? Thanks for any thoughts or advice.

Check out this thread regarding the review I did over a year ago about A8 (Sport pkg) vs. BMW 750i. Perhaps it is helpful. My 750i did not have the sport pkg.

I believe the 2013 BMW 750's have upgraded infotainment, sound systems, and most importantly an 8-speed transmission (vs. 6-speed in the prior vehicle). In my opinion, the transmission was the weakest point in the pre-2013 750i.

For whatever it is worth and I know this is an Audi forum, I recently sold my 2007 A8 with sport package and test drove both the new A8 and 750i both with sport packages. For me, having driven the A8 for the past 4 years, I preferred the ride, handling and looks far more than what I test drove in the Audi. The rides are completely different and that is where I believe the decision needs to be made. You could feel a difference in power and handling with the BMW while the other areas becme personal and subjective. I am very happy with my loaded 750i sport and have already added the Dinan Stage 2 software. THe car flies and takes off far better than my Sl 63 and gives me more room and comfort. OK, it is a little larger than the SL, but with the dynamic control pkg, the car corners just as flat as the SL. For me, I could not justify the high price that will be charged for the S8 and I have a quicker car for far less money. BMW has won me over on this model.

While I still owned the 750i, I test drove the new A8 D4 with 4.2 engine. I was not overly impressed. Moreso than any car I have driven, the A8 cannot be appreciated on a 1/2 hour test drive or even a 1 day test drive.
Live with it for a week and you will sing its praises, live with it for a month and you will fully respect Audi engineers. There is a reason why most major auto mags grudgingly put A8 at the top. I say 'grudgingly' because they don't expect this auto, that they prejudge as bland, to be so utterly competent in every category.
Don't get me wrong, BMW 750 has a lot going for it. If I had to name 2 things, it would be the turbos, which really kick butt, and the seats, which are best in class.
But the A8 is more refined than the the Bimmer. Not by a little bit, but an order of magnitude more. This is what can't really be picked up on the test drive.
And we ALL win because of this. Mercedes and BMW now have to totally elevate their game to compete. I guaranty the next gen S class and 750 are going to be more than the simple evolutionary steps they've been in the past -- because they now have to beat Audi.

I came from a 2011 750i with M package to my current 2013 A8L with no sport package. I love my Audi but I miss certain things about my BMW. The BMW is hands down sportier, period. I've driven an Audi with the sports package, no comparison. But the BMW is a driver's car, and Audi, not so much. The tech is better in the Audi by miles. I have not driven the new G11 BMW though but since I rarely see them on the road, and they've been out since 2016, there has to be a reason. They just aren't selling well it appears. And the BMW is much quieter, maybe the build quality is better, not sure. The Audi seems more luxurious while still having a sporty feel. Like someone else said, you have to drive them both. I will go back to a BMW after this Audi, and then probably switch back to Audi afterward, seems to be the norm for me.

Would you happen to have any input that can help me in regards to the module to modify the suspension height and set different settings? Ive seen a couple but are quite expensive. I was hoping for something a little easier to install while retaining attractive features.
any other input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
