Default 2017 S8 Plus Pricing

I'm considering a new S8 Plus but am hesitant for the end of product cycle concerns (not to mention end of model year) expressed in a number of threads; but for the right price I may bite. Question: at this point what are new 2017 S8 Pluses that are sitting on the lot going for (in terms of % off of MRSP) or could be reasonably expected to go for? Thanks.

I would think 10% would be a minimum. Although it is near the end of the run for the D4, I wouldn't expect a new s8 till next year. I purchased a new 2016 s8 plus in January of this year at a large discount. They are certainly Super Cars by any definition, not much like them in the history of humanity. Beasts. Nothing like them, much better drive than Mercedes s550 and much less money than s63. In many ways, these are good value propositions as much as a $125,000 car can be. I like the shorter wheel base, no need to be any larger. Happy hunting. Regards. Ned.

Thanks Ned. Agree on the 10% - that was a starting offer. How large a percentage discount did you get? Do you think 15% would be in the zone? Thx.

In the zone of 17% but I guess one has to adjust for the fact that mine is a 2016, that's meaningful. Mine was also pretty loaded, a very high msrp vehicle which does give them more room to discount. You could decide how you want the car optioned and ask a bunch of dealers for offers. Regards. Ned.

Recently asked for and got 12% on a build order 2018 S8+. I was stunned that my offer was accepted without counter offer. So I don't know what the opener should be, but I suggest you go lower.

My personal opinion is that the D4 could be the high water mark. It seems that a lot of the cutting edge stuff is aimed at CAFE standards and electronics, which I'm not going to say is bad, but as a car guy , doesn't excite me. Mike

I had the S63, S8 Plus is definitely a better driver, superior handling and performance, I also prefer the interior of it, not crazy about having all controls relegated to central screen and multiple menus.
S63's only advantage is larger back seat and slightly softer ride (prefer slightly stiffer myself).

Mike, I didn't realize there was definitely going to be a 2018 D4 S8+, let alone it being available for order. Are there any changes (vs. 2017) on pricing, features, etc. (eg will there be a USB connector)? When is the switch over to MY18? Thx.

Last of MY 2017's were probably run right about now at factory. May is the common shutdown point and transition to next model year. For D4 given it is last model year (MY 2018) honestly change may be no more than resetting the VIN numbering scheme to denote the 2018's.

The key to understanding what is going on with S8 is the MY 2018 Order Guide. See my just created thread for more info and a link to MY 2018 order guide, including S8+.

Audirb, the 2018 production begins in June, not sure which week. Won't run all year. As for changes, the cold weather package has been combined with another package which has lane change assist, active cruse control and the brake anticipation feature, and I think it is called the executive package, and is required if the Audi Design interior is selected. One of the wheel options seems to be gone. There may be some other minor changes, but I didn't focus on much else. I don't know about the USB connector, and pricing not finalized. Mike
