Hello,
Since I bought my car, cranking time in cold engine has been quite long. When the engine warms up, the cranking time is normal.
At first I thought the problem was with the battery. I bought a new battery and nothing changed.
I had Carbon Clean done, still no change.
The car is made for DUBAI, and I use it in a cold climate in Kazakhstan. Winter is approaching and cranking times are getting longer in the -30 degrees.
What would be the reason? I saw something called "hot cold start fix" on TDI vehicles on the internet. Is there such a correction/fix in our vehicles? Or any VCDS setting?
Is the crank time this long in your vehicles? is it normal, or my car has a problem?
(When the engine is hot, the cranking is very fast and the car literally kicks the rpm. I will shoot its video in the evening.)
2012 - CGWA - 290HP - 3.0TFSI
The video is below.

.
Your car only cranks for literally one second. This doesn't seem excessive, considering the temperature being so far below zero!
.
Have you had the opportunity to compare it to other similar engines?

That start only seems to be very slightly longer than my 3.0 TFSI, CTUB version of that engine. And, that is me starting at a warmer ambient temperature. If that video is the car starting in below freezing temperatures I would consider it normal.
I know the car may be setup or coded differently for different climates. Not sure if any of the computer settings would affect the start time.

I see literally no issue. That's a fast start and barely enough rotation to get the sensors indexed

I have also 2007 mercedes ML350 it cranks very fast. I can't compare similer cars. Members on the forum can guide me according to their own vehicles.?
