As an aside, I think there is no 4.0T forum because al the rest of those forums are really from a bygone era of AW. Back when original founders were the key crew who maintained site. The AW changes were happening by the mid 4.2 (D3) era, and probably why you see that but then no 4.0T.
Consider 511 vs 504 to lower risk of carbon, if you run meth injection though it doesn't matter.

.
Has anyone else noticed that the number of thread views is 4,500 times greater than the number of actual blown turbos

Hi all. Audi newbie here. I bought a 2014 A8L 4.0t a few weeks ago and found what I believe to be coking on the turbo. I was told the turbo oil filters had been changed no long ago. Please check out the pic and tell if I'm in trouble.

After having a couple gearhead friends look at the problem it appears its melted plastic and not a leak so no problem. Sorry for the bother.

.
That's just a burned coolant crust that develops from o-ring seepage.

Had my D4 S8 about a month, and PCV went. Covered under warranty, so fully fixed. Now can someone please help me understand how I can blow the turbos before November so they're covered? I kid, I kid. But kind of not really joking.
