I had the RSNav unit installed by my dealer.. nearly $700.... and they put it in the glove box. Don't ask me about the installation... I build furniture out of wood and leave car bits to those who know. No complaints about the installation or location of the unit.
The unit performs better than expected. Once you sort out your wifi and bluetooth connections, and I did not have any problems with them, Car Play works like a charm. Now I can Waze away, receive and respond to texts, and generally do all the things you'd expect from Car Play.
What I did not expect, and what they should market ravenously, is the built-in equalizer that makes our dull Bose system come to life. What a difference! My wife has an incredible Harmon Kardon 1100 watt beast in her Volvo. Clearly better than my Bose. Now with the equalizer we both agree the two sound systems are almost neck and neck.
We did a apples-to-apples comparison. I had the Audi MMI XM tuned to the Led Zeppeling channel. We queued up the XM app on the iPhone. First we listened to a song through the MMI... then at the end of the song we converted over to the XM App and ran it through the RSNav... same song (Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin' Maid)) WOW did it sound better. The highs were crisp and clean, the middles lost their muddy tones, and the bass was, well, still not spectacular, but acceptably OK. It's as if you were listening to music through a muffler, then had it removed. Clarity and the definition of notes is seriously better.
Essentially it cost me a grand to add the unit, and with the upgrade to the audio system I couldn't be happier. Rated Two Thumbs Up by Siskel and Ebert.

Ahh, Adam, not sure his user name on here just installed the 12.3in screen and he's out your way. It's not a bad install just time consuming and the quad lock thing can be a total pain.
