Any experience of the ceramic brakes?

Hi
I'm thinking of upgrading my front brakes to the ceramic option. My dealer said they can do it as it's an option on the car now (and will still retro fit on my MY 2010).
What are peoples experiences of these brakes ? Are they ok round town and general daily driving ?
It's probably something I'd move to my next A8 in a year or two, so what's peoples experience of these in terms or durability?
Thanks
Jet

Super-clean, very quiet, very e-z on rotors. Good for the average driver in most settings. They do have a bit less bite compared to traditional pads. Work well when cold or hot.
They are fitted as OE to my '11 A4 and I've fitted Akebono Euros to the front end of our A6. The OE Audi pads are the cleanest I've ever experienced. The Akebonos not quite as much so, but magnitudes cleaner than a traditional German OE pad.
