APR Feedback for 2015 S8
I thought I'd share my inquires and APR's response related to their Stage 1 and 2 tune for a 2015 S8.
DGB: My first inquiry was about the maximum boost we can expect with Stage 1:
APR: The S8 will generally make about 2500-2600 mbar absolute pressure at stage 1, once atmospheric pressure is subtracted then it is usually about 22-24 psi. The ECU targets torque so the boost pressure can vary based on torque request.
DGB: Does the target torque (and thus boost psi) change with a stage 2 upgrade? If so, approximately how much? I'm considering this upgrade in the spring. While I'm on the subject, have you had any special requests for other, more advanced upgrades to this engine - either S8 or RS7 such that we're pushing 1000HP and potentially even higher torque? I'd want to keep it to turbos and cooling with the trans as the constraint. Maybe we're already there with Stage 2 (with current trans).
APR: Yes the torque and boost psi does raise with stage 2, and the target number varies on vehicles. Also, to date we have yet to have any special request to push that number of HP.
