Consider my head exploded. On a car I care about I’m not putting a bandaid on a problem. If it’s leaking, find it and fix it. Hook up a pressure tester and it won’t be too hard

Lol. Gotcha.

No, I'm not crazy about it, either, but there are circumstances where it makes sense. For instance, a tiny stable leak somewhere in the radiator. My own experience is that a small amount of the right type of sealer can save a lot of money, blood, sweat and tears. All depending upon the overall condition of the car, how long one intends to keep it, and a multitude of other factors, of course.

I wouldn’t judge. I wouldn’t do it, but I wouldn’t judge. No personal experience either

I also would never consider any sealer, if there is a problem fix it is my thoughts....

Again, I'm not strongly advocating it, but it's my experience over the last 50 years that sealers can be a simple fix without ill effect, when used in small amounts. Again, the decision depends upon many factors. I'd be more inclined to consider it in an old high-mileage car that didn't warrant investment, for instance. Consider that to those who might not perform their own work, that the job might cost them $2K, and not everyone is driving a "keeper". There are situations where it makes sense. That's all.

Default 48 hour hold

Checked coolant level. Car had been setting for approximately 48 hours. Level had dropped about 6 to 8mm lower than the level from last addition. Looked it over and found no leaks.. Opened coolant cap... System still under pressure and level rose to an acceptable level once pressure was released.
Will continue to monitor, but still having pressure after 48 hours and no coolant loss makes me believe everything is okay for now.

If level dropped you have a leak. It does not magically evaporate. Try pulling belly pan. Yes a hassle, but need tto track down leak if not succeeding from above. If you are just trying to see leaks from above, or expect them on the ground but the belly pan is in place, that just plain does not work. It leaks onto the pan and sits there, eventually getting blown off or dried. Pull the pan. Look at it thoroughly, either for wet coolant or signs of it in past. Prior signs can be a pinkish tinged stain or deposit. Look carefully all over under the motor and back toward transmission . Look for either coolant signs or especially the dried pinkish marks or what looks like sort of pink cotton candy. Any are signs of coolant leaks, and the dry stuff has burned off from engine heat.

My car has had minor leaks from the alternator, thermostat housing, water pump and a radiator hose. In all cases the coolant level would drop from max to min approximately over a 1000kms. There were no obvious signs of the leaks until the car was placed on a lift overnight with a pressure test attached. If the coolant level is dropping slowly there is a minor leak somewhere, the system is sealed and if operating at 100% should never deviate from the max line on the expansion tank. If the leak is minor, one then needs to make a decision whether topping it up every 1000kms is better than spending potentially thousands fixing the leak.

Default Level is still good

Checked the coolant level yesterday. Still holding steady. Never found any signs of a leak...
