CPO S8 and Miles Question

Assuming you could negotiate a good deal, if in my shoes, would you trade out of an A8 3.0T with 29,000 miles to a 2016 (non-plus) S8 with 43,000 miles? Would the miles scare you and do the benefits associated with an S8 justify the trade from my low-mileage car? I guess that's what I'm asking. Dealer ask is $76K which is outrageous given the mileage and that its' not a plus. I see 2015's with less miles in the mid-50's and low-60's.

Too high is my instinct. Sure, do it, but take your time. Price only falls (hard). Almost no diff. between 2015 S8 and pre plus 2016 S8 ,and once at the 2015 step you have the facelift that continues into 2016 and later. If anything frankly, a 2016 pre -plus S8 is sort of a double negative in my market value book. No plus, and you know it was run early too before they did the plus switch. Many frankly were also dumped at discounted prices by dealers when they got the memo that said the pluses were coming. I know and was there for it. Could have gotten one for maybe 11 or 12% off sticker, new and literally off the showroom floor. They knew about pluses by December 2016, but didn't get first ones ordered (with updated order guide) until early Spring 2017.
If you like the one you found, try to spot a direct comparison one almost anywhere in country, and certainly w/in 500 miles. I had that scenario, sent them the ad with no other contact, and said I saw theirs but realized "they probably couldn't do the deal." Within 12 hours I had the price bomb e mail reply. Down $10K in one step to try to close it, and I had my car. My comparo happened to be 5 miles away--the one I test drove--and the one I bought 400. But, cost me a $139 plane ticket...plus a drive home up the Pacific Coast Highway (1). I got fewer miles and NightVision on top, and an interior in new shape instead of more shopworn and a screwed up front bumper as soon as I looked closely (all "CPO" on the comparo???). Net, a lot more fish than buyers. Plus for dealers, frankly literally any day or week now Audi USA will be doing the "re" launch of the sort of screwed up slow roll of the D5. If you do a search, you will find there are essentially no new S8's now at dealers--at least that's what I found on Autotrader last week. They know they will take a further hit as soon as that new announce pops, so they are emptying out. Just gotta play your hand right, and maybe try it at a few casinos until one blinks.

i would most definitely switch out of an a8 to an s8 if I could. also about the price it would come down to the options...if you want every option on a new car it would be msrp of $148k so $75k doesnt seem that bad...but if it was a base model then the price seems high.
also if you are planning on going to stg 1 or 2 then I would definitely take the price discount and get a non plus...i have the plus and recently got stg2 and seems like a waste to have gotten the plus as there is nothing different except for that extra 30 second of boost increase.
but definitely the s8 will be a lot more fun to drive than the a8.

Definitely, switch out, but that one is way overpriced as others have mentioned.
Find a better priced 15' maybe that is still under full factory warranty and get extension or CPO'd etc.
They are out there, just have to be patient.

I got my 15' S8 at $54k with 43k miles on it. Still 8months or 7k miles of original warranty. However, I got extended warranty to 100k or 5 yrs.
It is absolutely PHENOMENAL car and would highly recommend it!
