Edit after 2 days;

My Cupholder Cap chrome film is defected. So i wanted to fix it. it's easy to dissasembly this part, i take it out with my nails.

after i push this 3 hole

Chrome part is detached

chrome part

Defected chrome part

I tried to peel off the film layer on it (with my nails). It took me hours to remove that little piece and I damaged it while removing it.

The film layer on it is completely peeled off

i paint with the chrome spray.

Like this one.

i paint it about 3-4 layers. Except where I defect, the rest looks perfect

i put it on a cap again. But i use a little bit glue.

final result. i hope it will not melt under sun.

A standard trim tool prying the trim piece up on the hinge side will suffice. No need to remove any other surrounding trim or parts.

We have a great thread somewhere around here. Metal plungers and video from East bloc or Russia. Critical breakthrough to the process, I suggest you find.

I will update back if I find it....

it cost me only 4$ for chrome spray and it looks like new. (I made a small defect, but it's not looking so bad)

It’s not painted either, it’s electroplated plastic

So technically to say chrome plated is more accurate than saying painted. The metal applied just isn’t chromium, it’s probably nickel.
