I believe that w12 is turbo charged and the A8's isn't

What a fun read…

The first gen conti GT and Flying Spur feel so cumbersome. Steel body with an extra ONE THOUSAND lbs for the coupe, more for the convertible and sedan and the 6-speed transmission. They’re great cars and so much fun on long trips where you just want to relax, however they are not the best example of W12. Tuned they’re more fun since they are turbo, but even the Speed versions you can really feel the weight.

D5 W12 is turbo and second gen Conti/Flying Spurs are blisteringly quick.

Highly recommend a D4 W12 test drive to really appreciate it, lighter/taughter body and 8-speed.
