So...I have the 2013 AL 3.0 for the day. I test drove the 4.0 and honestly, not enough of a difference to matter, to me at least. And I'm coming from a V8 mind you.

The 4.0 also only has a regular sunroof AND there's no screen over it, just a solid roof, so you don't see any glass at all, makes the car darker. The one i am driving now has a lot of options but the ACC doesn't seem to turn on. And I don't have the manual. And when using Spotify via bluetooth, you can see any information on the songs. I'll try it with the MMI cable maybe. There's a blue one in the car.

I assume the cable will work, but should still show information. I'm curious to know your thoughts overall about the car? I definitely miss the performance aspect of my 7 series, but as a daily driver in my opinion the Audi is a much better car. If you live in a climate where the AWD is important, the BMW was worthless unless you put a set of $1200 snow tires on. Now that you've had a chance to compare, let me know what you think. Thanks

This cable isn't doing it but so far I like the car. Power in the V6 is plenty for me. Tried the V8, not necessary. Steering is nice a tight on turns as well. My BMW though is awesome in the snow with regular all season tires in Chicago but I know the quattro is better. This car is BIG in the back seat, huge! Love it. I can't figure out how to turn on the lane assist but i'll figure it out although there's no manual in the car and none loaded in the MMI either, weird.

I think you can turn this on with a button on the turn signal stalk. I believe it only works at speeds greater than 40 mph

Lane Assist activation button is at the tip/end of the turn signal stalk.

I found it! Kept thinking it was like the BMW where you push that button to change screens. Silly me.

Realistically, even the 3.0 has more than adequate power for most drivers. I just love the sound of a V8. For the adaptive cruise, if the stalk is pushed all the way forward, it will not be able to be activated. In the middle position, you can set it as you choose. Pulling it toward you resumes, pushing it away cancels. Push it away farther and it shuts off entirely.

A8 or A8L/ short wheel base is more sporty / target: sport suspension and sport differential worth the effort/

S8s are too pricey (from your comments you don't need a sport S8) its a track car w/ rough street/highway manners.

I got the A8 L w/ sport suspension and diff - very nice compromise w/o the costs
