Hey,
I'm ordering 3.0 tdi a8 this week. My specification is ready but I am not sure about color. My wife wants black as in her opinion it is the most elegant and fits this car perfectly. I am not sure because of few factors. First of all, I live in Poland and all a8s here are black and I yield for some individuality. Second of all, in my opinion Daytona is much more practical and easier to keep clean. The biggest disadvantage is the fact that it is expensive exclusive color and my wife says that it does not fit luxury car? What do you think?

I'm thinking seriously about ordering Daytona Grey the next time around. I think the A8's exterior design would work very well with Daytona. Phantom looks good on the A8 as well, but Daytona would be a stand out color in a sea of dark A8s. Interior colors can be a bit tricky, but Velvet Beige, Silk Beige or Nugat Brown would be good complimentary choices with Daytona IMO. Black or Platinum interiors are lower on my favorite list.

I had an RS4 in Daytona Gray and it was by far, the most beautiful color I have ever had on a car.
It is the only color that has personality. Sometimes it looks one way, then it will change it's mind and look completely different.
It hides scratches very well. I had 133,000 on mine when I traded it in on my A8 and it still looked new!
Daytona Gray was not an option on a 2011. So I went with olong gray which I feel is a distant second to Daytona.
I have seen a few older S8's in Daytona Gray and they looked very classy...

Have you not seen the Quartz Gray? That is a much better color than the Ooling, and is really dazzling in sunlight.
Can't go wrong with phantom black, but I agree that the car might have a bit more distinction with another color.

Not to make you any crazier than you already feel in the decision process, but I think the below pic (probably Quartz Grey), in shadows picks up on what Daytona can look like. Pretty sharp looking, especially with the Nugat interior. But a decision for Phantom is a great choice also, especially with its bluish highlights in direct sunlight.
