I think just about everything that's still in play should be set by the 2012 MY intro this coming Fall. The 2012 order guides will likely be released to dealers at the end of May or early June, if past history holds true to form---so ordering by early July should get you an October delivery.
(Yes - I know it starts in September, but runs through Oct 3rd)

Just to let you know not all dealers are created equals. It sucks to hear how crappy some of them are in regards to their new halo car. Audi of WG in outside of Philly had a fantastic launch party for the D4. They seem to be moving a lot of them too. Launch party was very nice, sushi, beer, cigars rolled on the spot. It was quite an event. They know also know a bit about the D4 and seem to have the up and up on whats changing with the D4.
I have a feeling certain parts of Audi are not talking to each other in the way they should.

My Audi dealer in Massachusetts as well as a competitor seeking my business have been more than helpful and well informed. Although I have had zero problems with my 08 A8, I enjoy a very good relationship with the service manager and technician who works on my car when it needs scheduled service or to install winter and summer wheels/tires. Given the rapidly growing product selection offered by Audi my dealership has been up to date on everything, which is saying something.

Nothing wrong with the A8's traction ;-)
The other day in the pouring rain (and Dynolicious on the iPad), managed 5.11 to 60 (the limit was 70 so I was legal!). Did it in the dry yesterday and 5.03. It's getting close to W12 territory (4.9). Obviously, I don't know how best to get off the mark as I tend to just slam my foot to the bulkhead, but in the wet there was barely a hint of traction control kicking in.
I'd say Quattro works!
They don't even offer the Benz or 7 series with 4wd in the UK. They said it's not worth their while developing right hand drive models because of the demand (and Audi have cornered the 4wd market over here).
