Default Speaking of......

Was going to post pics of my (humble) A8 but my friend sent these of his new W12. Every option available, prices out at over 200k Euro. He said that the main aftermarket shop we both have used over the years will soon introduce burlwood inserts for the interior of rear armrest (for those of us w/ NWB D4s) and are thinking about a similar rear bumper/exhaust set up as well.

Default A bit too much contrast going on in the interior for my taste, however...

...I do like the W12 rear exhaust/bumper treatment. I actually sent Anthony Foulk the A of A A8 product manager a letter last Summer inquiring if we could have that set-up added to the non W12 order guides as a stand-alone option. I'm sure no one would be surprised to hear that I never received a reply from him.

Let's see the pics of your "humble" A8. IMHO, I'll bet it looks far classier than your friend's W12 :^)

The stitching on the seats is quality. Your friend is a fortunate person indeed. It's good to see a close up of the rear.

A small thing, but the wooden gear shifter, I noticed that in the summer it gets uncomfortably warm when the car has been sitting in the sun. Nothing we can do about it, and I still prefer it over the standard leather one.

Thanks for the great pictures.

Agree - in fact this was a non delivered special order (originally with 'diplomat upgrades) and was slated for the shatterproof windows and kevlar door panel inserts. There is indeed a lot going on with so many colors - can imagine how 'loud' it will be with the interior city lights mode. Each day I do appreciate the 3 interior colors I have w/ black seats/charcoal inserts/gray alcantera. A lot of guys on the German chats think its underpowered (500ps) v the 12 cyl Merc.
Here's another pic of that armrest cavity - I do believe I would like mine veneered in burl if it won't get knocked around when using the ski sack. BTW, there is a smaller cavity behind the little ski sack door where I put the manual, etc - it really doesn't fit in the glove and its nice to keep that empty for using the cooling feature.

Forgot to mention that in these models (all the Ls?) that's where the DVD player, etc resides in lieu of the ski sack.

Nice idea regarding the manuals. I haven't opened the ski hatch door. I will have a look when I get the car back
