Steering Issue

Hello guys could use some input.
I don't drive the A8 much but when I do here is what she is doing. Stiff steering until you drive it 30 miles and then it is smooth again. Smooth the entire time I'm driving it. Once I park it for several weeks and go to drive it again it shows the same steering behavior.
Local mechanic just by explaining the above says gummed up power steering fluid. Change the fluid but he suggested a flush which I'm not going to do.
To be clear if I drove it for 3 weeks before parking it, it would never do that again. Does it after sitting.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Check the servotronic valve system to make sure nothing is stuck in it, flush it if you can. If that is checking good make sure the pump is okay and the fluid is the correct type.
Sitting doesn't matter, I've left my W12 sitting for 1.25 months when I first bought it to test for air leaks/power draw issues and it didn't care at all nor should it have.
