Default Trunk closing with remote key

I can open the trunk with the remote key but after I sent me son off today to get the something from it I was unable to close it from the key and had to to walk over and press the button on the trunk. Am I missing the something on how to do those or will I just have to be content with the extra exercise?

I believe you may have to program it via VCDS - at least in the states.

Thanks to MP4.2+6.0 for this one...

Correct, USA default programming for Audi's frowns on auto closing most anything on vehicle--trunk, windows, sunroof. Perceived risk a child will be stuck in opening while someone remote closes it. You program it in w/ VCDS.

I had the same issue, I finally learned you have to press and hold the trunk button to get it to close.

I'm in the UK so I'll try this. Our kids are more disposable than US kids so hopefully it'll work. Thanks

It's my understanding you need to program it via VCDS or OBDeleven or have the dealer do it.....

OK so just played about and discovered you can open the trunk from a good 20 yards or more away with the key but you need to be within 2 or 3 yards to close it!! I presume that's something else we can thank health and safety for!
