dealer actually found the issue, quickly. The fan shroud under the driver's seat was hitting something, they took the seat out and adjusted the shroud so it wasn't hitting something else. Seems to be fine now. Can't believe they found it! I expected the usual "could not replicate" response.

Any news on your noise? I figured mine out. It was the vent surround. Pushing the glove box must compress the dash insert which then holds the vent surround tight.
I tried to remove the surround but it was starting to bend so I gave up. Thumped it back in place and I haven't had the rattle since.
Worth a shot as it costs nothing.

not sure what the vent surround is. but my noise is still there, might actually be worse now! bugs the crap outta me and I can't pinpoint where the hell it's coming from! seems to be on the passenger side...

I just posted a new thread since mine is very specific - but after reading yours I'm curious if it's in the same general area. Does it sound like it's coming from the passenger dash or glovebox area? Mine sounds mechanical and when it happens it goes for about 3 seconds before turning off again. Happens frequently and not tied to any activity driving-wise.
