I've spent a fair bit of time out there, and I know exactly what you mean. I wouldn't bother waxing a matte wrap, but washing is the same. If you have a dark car, by all means, wrap it if that's what you need to do. It's not something I usually say go for, but in that environment, it's all you can do. Cracking a window doesn't cut it.

Default Hand Car Wash for $10?

I don't know where you live but in the NE or the west coast you won't even get a hand shake for $10 let alone a car wash for that. I've been taking my cars to a detail place where they do probably the best hand wash (plus a light spray wax job too) for $45 bucks but it is well worth it.
If you live in the central Jersey area it's worth the trip just to have it done, check out their web-site at: Auto Detailing Shrewsbury hand car wash | Monmouth County NJ | Detail Doctor

There are lots of hand car wash places in the Houston area where you can get a wash and interior clean for $15.95 and most of them will give you 6 if you pay for 5 up front. I never wash my own cars anymore.

Default Cheap Labor

Labor comes very cheap in that part of the USA, just don't ask anybody to see their "Green Cards".

Although time consuming , I've always enjoyed washing, waxing and detailing my cars, boats & cycles. Plus the fact you know it's done right
Lately health issues have all but excluded that. I atleast touch up, liquid wax & interior detail.
It's always kept in underground garage as well

It's ok for wheels and wheel wells. Not really worth the trouble and not recommended for engine
Good for vinyl siding, sidewalks etc
