Hey - thanks for this post. Love to see everyone's photos! I have a unique situation that I'd like to share. It started last fall when I became obsessed with finding a used 2016 S8 Plus - black on black, with black optics and double-arm black rims. So much so that I called around major dealerships in the Midwest (and some in the Northeast) to keep an eye out for an early lease trade-in. Fortuitously, my local dealership called me in December to let me know that a 2015 S8 was just turned in and they were going to buy it. Because I'm always looking for an excuse to look at cars, I decided to swing by and look at it despite me knowing that it wouldn't meet my expectations since black optics and the rims I wanted wasn't available until mid-2016 on the Plus. After about 20 minutes with my salesman, he convinced me that we could get it there. He offered to have all the chrome wrapped with flat black vinyl and the windows tinted. I immediately called my wheel guy (https://midwestwheelandtire.com/) and within a week he had the wheels. It had a little more miles that I wanted but I'm not one to keep a car for more than 2-3 years so it's not that important. I probably saved myself about $25k by buying a 2015 vs. 2016 so I'm pretty happy.
Here are some photos - from its original form to what it looks like today. I flashed it to APR stage 1 but haven't messed with the ride height or exhaust (yet). I still have the rotor style wheels and will consider using them as my winter rim - especially if I can fit a taller tire on it (maybe a 40 or 45 if there's enough wheel clearance, otherwise I'll sell them and buy some 20s).
Photos are the greatest but you get the idea.
In its original form - before wrap and new rims. Still looks great, but not what I wanted.
After the dealer had it wrapped and tinted for me! Now we're talkin'.
In the parking lot of Midwest Wheel and Tire. Taking her home on the new rims.
@dgburke, What did they wrap? I notice the chrome trim around the windows. Did they do the grill? The door handles? Chrome strip on the front fascia? It looks good.

I'm interested too, that blacked out style is so cool looking and my 2014 has a whole lot of chrome.
