Default Front license plate bracket

Hello All.

I just jot my A8 couple days ago. Got the car from southern state where front license plate is not required. Came back to NY and tried to search this forum for solution. I wouldn't like to buy original insert for license plate because, as I understood from the forum posts, it will require removal of the front bumper and recalibration of some systems. Is there any other aftermarket way to install front plate ? I found one website, but not sure it will fit. Here is the link : https://www.slybrackets.com/store/SL...LLE-p294703145

Please reply if you had the same situation and know how to solve it.

Here is the car I got. It's 2021 with 8cyl engine, loaded with rear seat package and bunch of other fancy stuff.

It looks like it would fit. It's worth a shot given the cost of installing the OEM bracket.

Sorry no help on the bracket, but for essentially a cosmetic part, I wouldn't hesitate to go non OEM. BTW congrats on the V8A8! The last year they offered them in this country. Seems after all your research you took the plunge. Welcome to the fold.

Thank you.
My last Audi was 2015 A8 TDI, which I sold when pandemic started. Since that time I had 2020 BMW740 and 2020 Mercedes S450 and now came back to Audi again. So, as others say, I completed MBA course. lol
I posted the same question on Facebook forums and the only practical answer till now is to use high quality Velcro to secure the plate on the front of the bumper. I think it may work.
I found this holder on Amazon, which is good for Audi D4 :
Amazon Amazon
I went thru QA section and it seems like it may work for D5, but the company has no proof till now. I may try it. My prime account allows me to return it easily in case of failure.

Hi.

For anybody that will need a plate bracket for the future - here is the link : https://www.cravenspeed.com/the-plat...&year=AudiA8D5
It mounts to the grill. No drilling required.
Thank me later

I realize this is an old post. Doesn't the location of the mount block air flow to the car's cooling systems?

Well I have the blacked out version with a license bracket that I don't need. Perhaps we should swap? Logistics might be a bit tough

yeah, we'd basically have to remove the parts and ship them to each other. I believe it's a $500+ part so I would consider that after I know more about the process of removing it.

It seems strange that Audi didn't design this to be easily changeable given there are something like 18 states that don't require front plates.

Anyone made this change on a D5?

Thank you for your offer, but I don't think it is realistically doable. To switch this part a bumper has to be removed. I can't imagine both of us removing our bumpers and wait till the part will arrive. Also I've heard that after removal of the bumper dystonic must be recalibrated and it's additional expense.
The bracket that I mentioned before was not good and I returned it long time ago. I found very cheap solution how to secure my plate and I'm ok with this for now.
