So I heard back on Fri, they're totaling it. They stopped counting @ 47k with more to go.

Good news is they r giving me a settlement that exceeds what i could have gotten for it selling it privately for full retail 😀

final follow up and a heads up. money has cleared so i'm comfortable discussing it now.

when my insurance co was about to make the payment to audi they called me first and i inquired about who would be sending me the overage, USAA or audi finance and was told audi, so i asked them not to send it till i called them back. i called audi and unlike other leases i've had over 30 yrs audi keeps all money from ins payouts, so i was getting zero

the buyout was 61k and the payout was 78,900 and audi told me to take a hike. i reconfirmed with my ins co to not send them a chk while i figured it out. I decided to buy out the totaled car and then when i had the title sign it over to my insurance co, wasn't sure if the title was flagged in audi's system but it went through and the $$ hit my acct today. took a while but fck audi financial 😃

I am surprised Audi Financial would want to keep the whole settlement. The insurance company should have paid Audi what they are owed, in this case the $61k, and given you the balance of the settlement. Makes no sense as to why Audi would want to keep the total payout and I doubt it is legal for them to do so.
