Currently ambient light strips only turn on at dawn/dusk/ night. Is there a setting I don't know of that leaves ambient lighting on during the day?

no not with main beams off. My memory is bit hazy but I'm 99% sure you can turn on your main headlights during the day and that would turn on ambient lighting too?

That is correct. The main beams must be on for DRLs and to turn on interior ambient lighting.

Hmmm…Nope, DRLs (if configured “ON” in the MMI) will be on when headlights are OFF. Interior ambient cabin lighting does turn on with headlights on, but will be dimmed in daylight conditions and get brighter as daylight is reduced.

I have to revise my DRL comment—

The DRLs are ON when headlights are set on AUTO mode, but headlights are not activated.
They be OFF if headlights are manually turned OFF.
They are also overridden by the main beams when headlights are ON.

Hmm. I wonder if there are regional differences at play here! Canada is a bit weird as always perhaps

Will try and see how bright "reduced" ambient level is haha.

Worst case scenario is I leave headlight on and waste (presumably) no more than 200W of energy and hope OLED taillight does not burn in like OLED screens before lease is up.
