Another annoying feature is the location of the cigarette charger port between the cupholders. In my Mercedes, there is a charger port inside the glove box along with another one in the ashtray which is below the radio controls.
With the Audi charger port, my radar detector unplugs frequently from cups or my phone hitting it. I really wish there was a charger port in the glove box so I could tuck away the radar detector cable better.
After many tries I settled on the magnetic ring with sticky stuff onto the shiny black. Just enough clearance for viewing between the steering wheel and MMI. Can't show the phone as mounted though since it is my camera.
Approaching 100k miles in 2019 and my only bitches are:
1. Start/Stop - just plain stupid
2. Glove box useless
3. Sunglass holder
4. Cup holder rubber grabber things - solved by chiseling them out LOL
You do realize with your dual pane acoustic glass those emergency window smashes will not work on these cars. You will need a crowbar to get out if needed.
Was using this in an old 911 that has even worse storage issues and just moved it into the Audi. Prob should find one that is color coordinated. Nice thing is it holds the larger yeti style cups with the wider base

I have the same issue with my radar detector plug-in.
I use the charging cradle for the phone...I keep the center armrests in their forward position, which keeps the phone cool and makes it easier to access the phone. Sunglasses in the door pocket.

Just do a mirror tap, it's clean and seamless. I mount my radar on immediate left of rearview mirror all the way up top.
