16x7 ET45 Audi rims: Will 225/50/16s rub up front? Should I go for 205/55/16?

Sounds like 215/55/16 it is then!
Preferably with a narrow carcass, which can make a big difference. That's one think I like about Kumhos, the sidewall vs tread width is favorable.

Re: THat is the point I was worried about. I guess 215/55/16 would work then?

What offset were the 5-spokers and the S4 rims you replaced them with?
Factory is 45mm, the cheepies I bought are 38. Centerline makes a nice rim, but it is ET42, which is still not 45...

I do not know. I always use OEM rims. BTW it is cheaper to get Audi rims with tires, then get cheap
rims and separate tires. OEM rims have good quality and make car look OEM not like "riced-up"

I got this set of Audi rims for 180 Euros, so that counts as a good deal for me.,
I also found some Cooper XEON XTC tires (Cooper and Avon are the same company in Yurrup) for $90 each 215/55/16. 215/60/15 is listed as an optional size for our cars on the sticker in the gas filler, so they should not rub.
