Default 1992 Audi 100

I have a 1992 audi 100. 350,000 miles and the engine has never been touched. except from timing belts and tune ups. Original Clutch as well. Lately I have had bad hesitation right after initial start up. I mean like the car stops going but does not die if i push in clutch!! it only happens once then is fine. the hesitation last for 3 to 5 seconds some times less. only happens if engine is cold or has sat for more then an hour or so. if i let it warm up this problem does not happen. car does not die and drives fine other than that. has new plugs and wires. Coil pack is original and so is TPS. MAF was done around the 50,000 mile mark so it has been quite some time. BTW have had car since new. This problem is really starting to bug me as it is getting progressively worse.

try unplugging the maf and drive it and see if the problem disappears, it might be slower but it will run pretty well other than that.

I tried that already. Car dies everytime it come down to an idel. And when I'm driving the problem is still there.

Agree, look for a vacuume leak. Just found one on mine under the hose that comes off of the intake manifold to the brake booster. Hose looked great from the top but BIG holes in the underside.

Ill look for leaks. When I was cleaning my maf I accidentally unplugged a vacuum line and heard air leak out. So I know over there at least I'm good. I'm in the auto tech program at my local college so I'm going to take it a d hook it up to a scope.

Found the problem today. Very simple fix too. Had a plugged up fuel filter!! 5 minute job that cost $7 and now I get 3 MPG better too. Gonna be changing it every 10-15k from now on!!
