Default 1993 100csq rims need: 17x7.5 with 40mm offset? what exactly do...

the rims I'm looking for have to meet? Does it have to be a 45mm offset or will a 40mm offset be ok? I know absolutely nothing about rims, except that I would like a new set. Thanks for the help!

the original rims are 7". wider rim will be closer to the suspension components. I afraid, that 7.5 rims with the original offset (45mm) would make tires touching suspension. So you would need smaller offset. I switched to S4 Avus rims. They have 38mm offset. There rims allows to run 225/45/17 tires without any problems.
