Default 1993 100s, need help on car alarm and central locking system

I've owned a 1993 100s for about a year now. I know the car has the stock alarm on it but have no idea how to get it to work. It went off once and I got it shut off by putting the key in the ignition. Is there a way to get the controls for it? Second question; my central locking system stopped locking all the doors from the drivers side. It will unlock them all, but only lock the drivers side door. However, if I try it on the passenger side it works fine, locking and unlocking. Any idea's?

Thanks

First, when you lock all the doors with the key in the door, a small honk type sound should go off. If it does, that indicates the system is armed. Also, the key should have button on it for the alarm system. You would point your key at the pillar between the front and back door (there is a black receiver there) and that would lock all the doors and arm the system.

In regards to the driver door no locking all doors, it's probably a loose/broken wire. Good luck.

The horn does not sound when I lock all of the doors. It never has. As far as the key, my key has a light in it. When I push the button, light comes on. It's probably not the original key. Maybe a backup. But there is a black receiver on the glass behind the back door on the drivers side. I can't remember the name but I looked it up on the net and it said they were put on Audi's. I'll look it up when I go to lunch. Maybe it isn't stock.

If you have a key with a light in it then its likely your alarm was operated from a separate remote control.
To establish this, see if there is a small rectangular socket under the steering column cover close to the steering wheel.

The name on the alarm is SEKURIT with the Audi rings next to the name. I will look by the steering column tonight. Thanks.

Default Do you hear the vacuum pump running when you......

lock or unlock the driver's door from the inside? The pump is under the backseat next to the battery. It commonly fails.

There's one in a parts car I have access to if you need one.

Also, the alarm in my car wouldn't work when I bought it. Turned out to be the microswitch inside the trunk latch mechanism. Another common (but simple to fix) failure. Does your trunk light stay on when the lid is closed?...or has someone removed the bulb?
