The 1993 Audi 100 CS Quattro - what kind of freon does it have? How to find out? Is it indicated in the VIN?
Is iot R12 or R134A?
How and where to get the adapter for low pressure port? The adapters included in eg. R12 to R134a conversion kits do not fit. But I do have a high pressure snap on port on the condenser?
Thanks for help

15 - Service valve (low pressure)
For A/C refrigerant low pressure switch -F73-
Remove switch -F73- and connect A/C low pressure gauge when checking pressures, discharging, evacuating or charging system
and
17 - Service valve (low pressure)
Connect A/C low pressure gauge when checking pressures, discharging, evacuating or charging system

F73 is under the plenum tray on the passenger side. #17 is the low pressure port on the the compressor. Bentley has loads more pertinent info.

Thank you ALL.
No freon conversion was done on the car. The top of the condenser is smooth. Therefore by UrS4boy it is R134a.
I found an add for 1993 Audi 100 CS Quattro and went to see it. It had the plate on the front stating that it is R134a. Its VIN # was lower than mine, there fore I must have R134A. Good call UrS4boy.
But that on car label reads 600g +-50 of freon,
while Bentley on p. V87-163 states 750g+-50.
What should I put in?
