I am planning to replace both low beams and the fogs that came integrated in the headlight with VVME HIDs. What bulb types are lows and fogs?

Are they both H1? Or is one H1, the other H3?

The low beams are H1's, the fogs are H3's.
When in doubt pull them out and look.
What are VVME?

HID in the Fogs are not such a good idea.

why not in the fogs? what about high beams?

From Daniel Stern Consulting "...Good (and legal) fog lamps produce white or Selective Yellow light, and use tungsten-halogen bulbs. I feel its one of the best mods i have done, go for 5k, max 6k HID lamps

Some folks say that HID highs will take too long to light up but my A4 HID lows are almost instantly on so I feel tempted to do both lows and highs on the A6.
