So I tried to do the good old solder a couple of resistors and it will fix your problem from a thread I found. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...79&postcount=3. And it world, for a little while so now im back to square one. So what i was wondering is if anybody out there eather with a working Cruize Control in there Audi A6 or with an extra Cruize Control brain wouldn't mind letting a fellow Audi member borrow it. That way i can eliminate my circuit board as the problem and eather look and find what else could be wrong or concentrate on that circuit board. Thanks. I know it seems out of the ordinary but it would help a lot. I would also like to talk about the valve covers for a 1997 Audi A6 Quattro. Well to be more specific the gaskets I ordered some from rockauto.com (BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0361503) but they are not the right ones. Does anyone know where I can find the right ones or should I just go ahead and make some with http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ket+maker+rtv?

My problem is that the ones everyone has are the wrong ones. I got these ones from rockauto.com they are shown on the left. the old ones, the ones that actually fit my valve cover are on the right. I can't seem to find anyone that has the ones shown on the left. So my questions are 1.) Does anyone know where i could find the right ones? 2.) Could my Audi be the European model?

There are two types of valve covers used on the 2.8L AFC engine: aluminum (silver colered) and thermopastic (black colored). Each type takes a different type of gasket. Given that you have a MY '97, your engine should have the thermoplastic valve covers. However, someone might have changed them to aluminum, which wold explain the seal difference. If you do have aluminum covers, select the gasket for a early '96 AFC engine.
