200K A6Q replacing timing belt - anything else?
It's time to do the timing belt again on my 1996 A6Q at 200K. I'm doing the following:
- timing belt, tensioner, idler
- serp belt, tensioner
- coolant pump, seals
- thermostat, seals
- coolant flush
Actually, I'm not doing it... the process is a little over my experience level...
My main question is: while they have that part of the car disassembled, is there anything else that should be inspected/replaced? I saw mention of some camshaft seals, for example. I figure with 200K on the car, almost every seal and gasket is beyond the service interval...
Thanks,

Re: Radiator fan switch, water pump if not done in the past 60k.
I had "coolant pump" in my list, and I meant the water pump... cause it really isn't water... and I was trying to be accurate to Bentley's. I'm new to this forum...
But the radiatior fan switch is a new one for me... It can't be that expensive, so I'll throw it in.
Any seals or gaskets I should add to the list?
And to your question, it's running fine considering the amount of maintenance I _haven't_ done. The 200K is mostly all highway miles, so it isn't as bad as it sounds. It's 198,400 to be exact.
The entire suspension is ready to be replaced, so I'm saving up for that. I'm going to lower it a bit while I'm at it. I'm crossing my fingers about the tranny... automatic...
Needs some minor body work, but the thing just saved my tail again last night. We had a little sleet storm, and the bridges were icing up. Even with worn out tires, the traction control kept me going reasonably straight when I hit a black ice patch on an overpass. All wheel drive is a manditory thing, in my opinion.
