<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/29555/flushpshose.jpg"></center><p>1.In my pic is the smaller hose I have pointed out the return?
2.To flush the system am I correct to assume I can remove the hose from the tank & cap off the tank connection & extend the return line to a drain bottle. Run the engine while continuing to fill the reservoir tank until the fluid coming out is the new fluid color?
3.How much Pento$in should expect to use?
I want to flush the system because the fluid is starting to look amber & the P.S. makes a werring sound for a few seconds under load after starting the car when it has been sitting about an hour since the last run.

I can't remember for sure, but it makes sense that the smaller hose would be the return.
Running the car with the hose off would make me nervous.
I recently flushed my system by pulling a hose from the PS tank & attaching a small hand vacuum pump to it and sucking the fluid out. I ran one big can of fluid through the system, then topped it off following the bleeding procedured in the Bentley.

Safer, might be to just draw out the contents of the res. with a turky baster, etc. Refill, then drive a while. Do this several times, and a "flush" might be a useful description.
No risk, no fluid waste, What's not to like?
I do this with the brake fluid at the begining of a flush as well.
