Default '92 100CSq - Cam Plug Supercession?

Went in this afternoon to replace the right side cam plug on my wife's 2/92 production date 100CSq. Instead of finding the common 078 103 113E black plug, there was an aluminum cap with an o-ring. Inside the cap is a male tip that sticks into the end of the cam. The part number inside the cap is 078 103 491A.

I'm guessing that the o-ring/aluminum cap setup was an early version, and the 078 103 113E replaces it. The male tip extending into the cam threw me though - almost looks like it helps to support the cam.

So...does the black plug replace the aluminum cap??

Thanks, John
